Madrid Office Supports Five New Start-Up Businesses

On 21 November the Madrid office held its second CVC  Young Innovator pitching panel and awards. Applications were invited from young entrepreneurs from the national  network Youth Business Spain and were run in conjunction with CVC's partner, Fundación Tomillo. To be eligible for an award applicants needed to be under the age of 30 and have an early stage  business which has received  no external  investment  to date but which has already made some sales or demonstrated market potential. There were a wealth of business proposals submitted and the best were invited to pitch to a panel of CVC Madrid executives and guests. The winners of awards totalling €40,000 were:

CocopiFood
Home cooked and delivered meals in the Madrid area.

Orquestra Escuela
Social enterprise providing free musical education  to low income children, funded by fee paying instrumental music classes (Zaragoza)

GarageScanner
IT platform for mobile app allowing users to easily find and pay for parking in Spain's crowded cities (Zaragoza)

Recreando Creativo
Social enterprise comprising graphic and other design services for small businesses and social projects (Zaragoza)

LavaDog
  A "car wash" for dogs where customers take their pets to be cleaned
