Amtek

In June 2007, CVC Funds co-led the acquisition of Amtek Engineering Ltd. ('Amtek'). Amtek is one of the largest independent precision metal engineering companies in the world.

Amtek was founded in 1970 and listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange in August 1987. Amtek supplies to a diverse set of end-industries, business segments and geographies. The company's principle product range lies in industrial specialist engineering tool design, manufacture of metal parts and casings, and contract manufacturing and assembly for electronics and consumer products. The company has 18 manufacturing facilities in nine countries across Europe, Asia and North America and 24 directly-owned subsidiaries.

Its products are used in consumer electronics, computers and peripherals, data storage, imaging and printing, and automotives. It enjoys strong, long-standing relationships with leading OEMs such as HP, Dell, Philips, and Schneider. Unlike most of its peers, the company has a diversified customer base, with no one customer accounting for more than 12% of revenue. The company's top 10 customers, accounting for over 60% of revenues, have remained stable over the years.

The company employs some 11,300 employees and has manufacturing facilities across Asia and Europe in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, and Czech Republic.

Amtek is a transformed company. Our management knows where every dollar is made or lost. Our employees know our customers and our products. Most importantly, our customers, shareholders and employees are happy.
