In October 2010, CVC closed the acquisition of the Autobar Group, Europe’s largest vending operator.

Autobar installs, operates and maintains hot and cold drink and snack vending machines. In aggregate, the business operates over 245,000 vending machines, serving 100,000 customers, across 11 European countries.

Autobar is led by an experienced management team with a proven track record in the vending industry. The business aims to grow both organically and through the acquisition of smaller businesses in highly fragmented markets. Autobar was acquired via a proprietary transaction, where Charterhouse (the vendor) has retained a significant minority stake, to participate in the continued growth of the business.
