DWB is active in the production, import and logistics of fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers and convenience foods

De Weide Blik & Bocchi (DWB)

In May 2006, CVC Funds acquired a share in DWB Group. The company was formed from the merger of De Weide Blik and Bocchi Group. Headquartered in Belgium, DWB Group is active in the production, trading and distribution of fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, flower bulbs, plants and ready meals.

Hein Deprez, Chairman of the group, founded the company in 1987. Today, DWB is a global leader in the fruit and vegetables market with operations in 23 countries stretching across four continents. The company’s main clients are retailers (such as Rewe, Ahold, Makro/Metro, Carrefour, Delhaize and Aldi) and intermediaries. Under CVC’s ownership, the group has made several add-on acquisitions (Katopé, Alara, Atlanta).

DWB holds a leading position in the Benelux and German markets, and has well invested assets with production capacity in South America and South Africa, coupled with logistics and distribution platforms throughout Europe.

Despite the crisis that has impacted the global fruit and vegetable sector, DWB has been able to maintain its volumes, thanks to its robust business model.
