In February 2008, CVC Asia Pacific Funds completed the acquisition of a 65% economic stake in Stella Group (‘Stella’). Stella is comprised of Mantra Group (formerly Stella Hospitality Group), Stella Travel Services UK and the interest held in Jetset Travelworld resulting from the merger with Stella Travel Services ANZ.
Mantra Group is the leading manager of hotels, resorts and retreats in Australia and New Zealand. Stella Travel Services UK is one of the UK’s leading integrated travel businesses with a high street and online presence, wholesale and tour operations.
Jetset Travelworld is a leading travel business operating primarily in Australia and New Zealand. Jetset has a franchise based retail business as well as an online travel platform, substantial wholesale packaging business, air services, corporate travel and inbound tour operations.
During the past year the company has gone through a major restructure and refinancing. Travel markets are starting to recover and STS is in a very good position to perform strongly in a recovering market. With CVC’s support we have been able to strengthen our brands, market share and reputation setting us on a course to become Australia’s favourite accommodation provider.
