In 1997, CVC Funds invested in Corposan, a leading food manufacturer in Germany and a former division of Nestlé Deutschland AG, previously acting as a distributor of health food products sold primarily through the German Neuform Co-operative.

In 1999, Corposan joint forces with the well known health food company, Allos (a leader in honey production market), which subsequently became a co-partner. The objective of this was to create a strategic alliance and merge a combination of companies in the German health food sector.

With the Funds invested by CVC, two principal brands grew out of this alliance, Tartex and Dr Ritter, which, at the time, employed 120 staff and produced a turnover of €60 million.
