In 2002, CVC Funds acquired Kwik-Fit from Ford Motor Company. CVC introduced a new management team, led by Tim Parker and Sir Trevor Chinn (former Chairman of the RAC Plc).
Founded in 1971, Kwik-Fit had steadily grown through acquisitions and new centre openings to become the leader in fast-fit automotive services. Kwik-Fit provides automotive parts, repairs (tyres, brakes, exhausts, windscreens), MOT testing, car servicing, and air conditioning recharge. The company is also the leading fast-fit supplier of tyres in the UK with more than 570 centres and stocking over 600,000 products from top manufacturers, including Pirelli, Michelin, Continental, Dunlop, Bridgestone and Firestone.
In June 2005 Kwik-Fit was sold to PAI Partners for €800 million.
