In 1996, CVC Funds completed the acquisition of the French company, Oxbow. The company’s business consists of designing, manufacturing, promoting and distributing sportswear garments and sport accessories used for surfing and snowboarding.

From its founding in 1985, Oxbow served a specific market within the field of board riding sports. With its pre-eminence in sport fashion, it strongly rested on human and technologic open-mindedness, on creativity and innovation.

The business focused on five sports: surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, snowboarding, and skiing. Oxbow became an affiliate of the French group Lafuma in 2005.
