In May 1999, CVC Funds acquired Polimoon (formerly Dynoplast), the plastics division of the Norwegian conglomerate, Dyno Industrier. Polimoon is a leading European manufacturer of plastic products used in a range of applications across selected industrial and consumer markets.
The company conducts its business in the following two divisions: packaging products and components. The packaging products include bottles, jars, pots, caps, spoons, trays, canisters and drums for food, chemical and pharmaceutical packaging. The components division includes the production of safety parts, engine covers, interior and exterior mechanisms for the automotive and electronics industries.
The group provides services to a wide range of customers with brand names such as Unilever, L’Oreal, Orkla, Sara Lee, Volvo Truck, Daimler Chrysler and Scania.
In April 2005, Polimoon was floated on the Oslo Stock Exchange; the remaining quoted 20% stake in the business owned by CVC Funds was finally sold in November 2006.
