In December 2009, CVC Funds completed the acquisition of AB InBev’s Central and Eastern European operations. Following the transaction, the company was renamed StarBev.

StarBev has operations in Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia. StarBev's product portfolio includes leading local brands such as Bergenbier, Borsodi, Jelen, Kamenitza, Niksicko, Ozujsko and Staropramen, supplemented by international premium brands such as Beck's, Hoegaarden, Leffe, Lowenbrau and Stella Artois, brewed or distributed under license from AB InBev. Staropramen, the original Czech lager brewed in Prague, is already available in more than 30 countries worldwide and has the potential to become a well-known international beer brand.

CVC is supporting StarBev to build on its operational excellence by investing in and supporting its local and regional brands to build StarBev into a true regional beverage champion.
