Maintaining power to Poland's railway sector and other customers while keeping its employees safe during the pandemic has been the top priority for the operator of Polish electricity distribution network, PKP Energetyka.

The company switched fully to virtual planning and supervising of the field team operations and instigated strict protocols and provided protective equipment for workers on the ground. Many of its employees, including sales teams, were working remotely, while those who needed access to the company's facilities follow rules to minimise the risk of exposure to the virus in the workplace and during travel. In all, PKPE has spent around PLN 18 million on PPE and cleaning supplies to keep its staff safe. In addition, the company contributed 150 computers to local schools to facilitate remote learning for students during COVID-19.
