On Monday, 8 November 2010, Sunrise announced its new Board of Directors, with Dr. Dominik Koechlin appointed Chairman. Furthermore, Sunrise estimates an increase of 46,000 new mobile customers, enlarging its mobile customer base from 1,906 million to 1,952 million. Investments in network and infrastructure have enabled further unbundling of Swiss households with more than 215,000 households unbundled.

Dominik Koechlin Chairman of new Board of Directors

Sunrise announced Dr. Dominik Koechlin, a Swiss citizen, as the Chairman of its newly appointed Board of Directors. Dominik Koechlin is an independent director of Clariant AG, Swissmetal AG, EGL AG, Plant Health Care plc and several private companies. Until 2000 he was member of the executive committee of Swisscom AG.

Sunrise's new Board of Directors consists of five members:

  • Dr. Dominik Koechlin, Chairman
  • Lorne Somerville, Deputy Chairman and board member of the Sunrise holding companies
  • Siddharth Patel, board member of the Sunrise holding companies
  • Dr. Daniel Pindur
  • Jean-Remy Roussel

Customer response to Sunrise product remains positive

Sunrise estimates another increase in its mobile subscriber base (excluding MVNO subscribers) from 1,906 million as of 30 June 2010 to 1,952 million as of 30 September 2010. Demand for smartphones like the iPhone 4 remained high. More than 31,000 new post-paid mobile subscribers and 15.000 pre-paid subscribers choose Sunrise as their preferred mobile operator. While Sunrise estimates the number of mobile subscribers rose, Sunrise estimates the total number of retail voice subscribers decreased by 10,000 customers. However due to substantial investment in network and IT, Sunrise estimates the number of ULL subscribers grew 9.1% from 197,000 to 215,000. Sunrise estimates subscribers to the xDSL internet business increased from 345,000 to 347,000.
