The Board of Directors of Sunrise Communications Group AG today reported with deep sadness the passing of Dr. Dominik Koechlin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sunrise. He passed away unexpectedly after a rapid deterioration in his state of health on 12 July, 2015, in his 56th year of life.

"Dominik's death is a tragic loss for all of us. He was the first independent member to join the board when CVC made its investment in Sunrise in October 2010. He has been a constant source of wisdom, generosity and kindness throughout his time with us", said Vice-Chairman Lorne Somerville. "We offer his family our deepest and most sincere condolences. The Board of Directors, Executive Management and employees will always remember Dr. Dominik Koechlin in the most honourable way."

Dr. Dominik Koechlin (1959) served as independent board member in many other companies like Clariant, Avaloq and LGT. He was a member of the university council of the University of Basle. Dr. Koechlin received a doctorate in Law from the University of Berne and an MBA from INSEAD Fontainebleau.

The Board of Directors has appointed Lorne Somerville as new Chairman for the remaining term of office until the next ordinary general meeting of shareholders and current board member Peter Schöpfer as new Vice-Chairman. Current board member Jesper Ovesen joins the Nomination and Compensation Committee of the board.
