With over 3,000 responses gathered, the Private Debt Investor (PDI) editorial team began the awards process last November, shortlisting 37 categories across three broad regions: the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
The selections were based on PDI's own market knowledge, numerous in-depth conversations with market experts and discussions with editorial colleagues within PEI Media in their New York, London and Hong Kong offices. They then published the shortlists on their website and opened up the voting to its readership.
Last year CVC Credit Partners raised $3.8 billion and established nine new funds and vehicles. Its activities included two mandates for separately managed accounts as well as the launch of a listed vehicle to give retail investors access to its European credit strategy.
Stephen Hickey, CVC Credit Partners Managing Partner told PDI "Investors are now well educated on the opportunity presented by credit strategies and - with that higher level of understanding - they have become more discerning in which funds they will invest".
Asked which factors are key for investors looking to put money to work, Hickey outlined three: "Performance, infrastructure and global presence", which in his view are boxes that CVC Credit Partners ticks.
