Last month, CVC Poland and the global Philanthropy team organised a CSR day for our Polish portfolio companies to meet and share best practice, it was attended by 10 representatives from Żabka, PKP Energetyka and Stock Spirits.
Team members from our Warsaw office talked about how CVC incorporates ESG into investment decisions. The Philanthropy team then presented ideas on how to develop a CSR strategy, as well as explaining CVC’s own CSR journey.
The three portfolio companies also presented their own CSR programmes and discussed ways they can collaborate to increase their impact, including in partnership with NESsT, a non-profit working in Poland and CVC charity partner who also attended the event. Finally, the companies provided an update on their response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Many CVC portfolio companies have supported Ukrainian aid work since the start of the invasion in March 2022, through financial donations; donating medical supplies and food, and supporting Ukrainian refugees with housing and finding employment. To date, CVC’s portfolio companies, employees and the CVC Foundation have collectively raised €10 million for efforts to help those affected by the invasion.
This is the second CSR workshop CVC has held for its portfolio companies in 2022, following a similar event that was held in Athens in May. Representatives from representatives from Hellenic Healthcare Group, Skroutz, Vivartia Group, Ethniki, PPC, D-Marin and TMF presented their CSR programmes and shared best practice. They also heard from members of CVC’s Philanthropy and ESG teams about how to develop a philanthropy focus and CVC’s approach to ESG.
