CVC Capital Partners ("CVC"), one of the world's leading private equity and investment advisory firms, announced today that it will open an office in Sydney, Australia and Brett Sutton, one of the top investors in the region's private equity markets, has joined as Chair of Australia to oversee this expansion.

Brett has a proven track record in Australia's private equity markets, built over 16 years at Affinity Equity Partners ("Affinity"), where he was responsible for founding their Australian operations in 2004. He has a strong investment track record developed through numerous transactions throughout the region.

Sigit Prasetya, a Managing Partner and Head of CVC Asia, said: "Australia has been one of the most active private equity markets in Asia Pacific and we believe that now is the right time to build our presence in the country. We're pleased to have Brett on board and with his wealth of experience and deep network of relationships, he will be central in developing our local team and position us well in this exciting market. The opening of our Australian office will further expand CVC's already extensive network of offices in Asia Pacific to nine and globally to 25."

Brett Sutton added: "I am delighted to be joining a firm as successful as CVC with such a strong global proposition and reputation. I am keen to build our presence in Australia and I look forward to working closely with the CVC team to identify exciting investment opportunities in our local markets and bring in the global expertise, networks and pools of capital of CVC to add value to Australian businesses."
